DESCRIPTION:We'll be making pickles by using lactofermentation\, aka using just veggies and salt\, so no special equipment required. If you have your own vegetables from your garden or the store that you'd like to pickle please bring them\, as well as one or more clean jars. The jars do NOT need to be sterilized. We'll have both extra jars and vegetables on hand. \n\nTo those of you who may be experienced picklers\, come hang out anyway! Please come share your years of pickling wisdom!\n\nExamples of veggies that make delicious pickles:\n\ncabbage (sauerkraut)\n\ncucumbers \n\nradishes\n\ncarrots\n\nbeets\n\nturnips\n\nbeans\n\nExamples of spices that can add flavor to your pickles:\n\ngarlic\n\nginger\n\ndill\n\npeppercorn\n\nturmeric\n\nhorseradish\n\nhot pepper\n\nscallion\n\nseaweed \n\nYou think it\, we can pickle it!\n\nThis is a free workshop\, as are all workshops put on by the Great Falls Apple Corps.
