Janet Ryan and Straight Up blends the wailing blues/R&B voice of singer/songwriter Janet Ryan with the talents of blues guitarist/singer Ray Chaput. The feel of the music is blues, and it’s combined with a unique soulful sound that takes the music to another level. Janet is from Chicago, where she up the sound in the juke joints of the city’s north side for many years, hanging out with Koko Taylor, Magic Slim and Big Twist and The Mellow Fellows. She had the great honor of singing with Duke Ellington when she was only 16. The Franklin County Sweethearts play country, classic rock and vintage pop.
