Mapping Walk of Turners Falls' Green Spaces

With Spring right around the corner, we at the Great Falls Apple Corps are hard at work preparing for the next growing season. Part of our mission is to have the landscaped areas in downtown Turners Falls be edible, medicinal, or otherwise useful, as well as beautiful! Our first step is to survey the green spaces downtown and create a map of what plants already exist, and where we could plant more! This map will turn into a free public resource, with information about what plants are growing, as well as how to identify them, harvest them, and use them. 

We will gather on Sunday, March 11th at 1pm at the Great Falls Discovery Center to walk around town together, using smart phone apps to add data to our collective map. Use of a phone is not required for attendance! Come walk with us!

How to take data:
-Android users: download "SW Maps" app and we'll provide the map template this week 
-iPhone users: use Google Maps to get coordinates, and Google Sheets to input data. 
- We can provide printed out data sheets for folks, please let us know in advance.
