Montague Mug Race

The 38th Montague Mug Race is 5.5 miles in length. Starting line is north east corner of Village Green, heads south down Main to Old Sunderland Road. At the first mile the course runs up a challenging hill to the top of Taylor Hill. It continues running down to the flat part of the course (partial dirt road) along the Connecticut River. Shortly after mile 3 it makes a hair pin turn up onto Old Sunderland Road. Continues past the fire station and then makes a left hand turn onto School Street, downhill to a flat shady wooded finish line on Station Street.
Note: the race does not finish at the Village Green. This helps to ensure a safe, traffic-free finish.
The Mini Montague Mug Race is 2 miles and starts 5 minutes after the main race, following the first mile route. It then loops around The Old South Cemetery on Old Stage Road back to the finish line on Station Street.
Both races have plenty of water stops, Fire and EMS personnel on the course.
