Montague Mug Race

The Mug Race is 5.5 miles in length. Starting line is north east corner of Village Common (4 North Street), heads south down Main to Old Sunderland Road. At the first mile the course runs up a challenging hill to the top of Taylor Hill. It continues running down to the flat part of the course (partial dirt road) along the Connecticut River. Shortly after mile 3 it makes a hair pin turn up onto Old Sunderland Road. Continues past the fire station and then makes a left hand turn onto School Street, downhill to a flat shady wooded finish line on Station Street.
Note: the race does not finish at the Village Green. This helps to ensure a safe, traffic-free finish.

There is also a 2-mile Mini Mug Race for walkers and runners that begins at 8:35 am.

Pewter mugs are given to the top male and female racers, coffee mugs are given to the top three finishers in each division.
