Sparking the Revolution: Flintlocks, Gunpowder, and Policy in America's War for Independence The University of Wyoming's Firearms Research Center, in partnership with Springfield Armory National Historic Site, will host a conference on November 20-21, 2025. This two-day event will explore the complex role of firearms in Revolutionary America. The conference brings together leading experts to explore the American Revolution's enduring legal and historical impact. Panels and Presentations will examine colonial disarmament, militias, and early arms production, combining scholarship and interactive engagement to connect history, law, and policy in America's fight for independence. The event is free and open to the public, both in person and online.
