Wes Brown Quartet

RiverCulture and the Montague Cultural Council are proud to present the Wes Brown Quartet. The Quartet will perform a selection of compositions that reflect the diversity of Wes Brown’s musical experiences over the last 50 years through jazz, African, and Afro-Caribbean styles.

Turners Falls resident Wes Brown has performed throughout the world on upright and electric bass, piano, African flute and percussion. He’s notably recognized for his longtime touring career with legendary jazz pioneer Earl “Fatha” Hines. Joining Wes are three luminary performers: renowned percussionist Royal Hartigan, who commands an immense array of instruments from Turkish bendir drums to Japanese taiko; Nigerian pan-African saxophonist and multi-instrumentalist Temidayo Balogun, and prolific contemporary composer and pianist Dr. Matan Rubinstein.

Wes Brown Quartet- 50 Years of Composition is free, accessible and open to the public. Bring a lawn chair and picnic dinner. In case of rain, this event will be rescheduled.
